Draft programme

Friday 31st January

6.30pm   assemble at The National Perry Pear Centre, Hartpury.     Play music leading the procession to the tree.   Play the Gloucestershire Wassail tune after the perry pear tree ceremony, followed by food, music session and communal sing-song    If you are considering attending for this evening, please let us know if you may need a lift to/from Gloucester, and also numbers for catering purposes.

Saturday 1st February

9.30am assemble at St Michael’s Tower in the heart of Gloucester.   Rehearsal of mediaeval and Shakespeare tunes

11.00am   move to the Chapter House, Gloucester cathedral.   Last minute rehearsal. Change to costume if desired.   View the two carvings of taborers (1350)

12.00 – 12.30   opportunity for a run through to test the acoustics in the cathedral

12.00 – 13.00 opportunity to obtain lunch from the cathedral café if desired

13.00 – 13.45    informal concert in the cathedral

14.00   process back to St Michael’s Tower (opportunity for late lunch or refreshments en route, and also the possibility of playing in the courtyard of The New Inn – to be confirmed)

15.30 – 17.00   workshop

18.00   meal in pub followed by what Andy calls a play or pass session (location to be confirmed depending on other use of pub rooms on a Saturday evening)

Sunday 2nd February

9.30 am    assemble at St Michaels Tower for workshop

12 noon    big dub at the Cross

12.30         pub for lunch  then depart
